Allium aflatunense 'Purple Sensation'

One of the most reliable ornamental alliums for UK gardens, producing dense spheres of violet-purple star-shaped flowers on tall sturdy stems in late spring. Each drumstick head measures 8-10cm across and lasts for weeks in the border. Excellent dried. Naturalises well in free-draining soil.

How to grow allium 'purple sensation'

Plant bulbs 10-15cm deep in autumn in well-drained soil. Space 15cm apart for a natural drift effect. Tolerates most soils except waterlogged clay. Leave seed heads for architectural winter interest.
