Crocus sieberi

A delicate early-flowering species crocus producing tri-coloured flowers with lilac outer petals, a white band, and a deep yellow throat. Cultivar 'Tricolor' is the most popular form. Flowers appear from February in sheltered spots. Smaller and more refined than Dutch crocuses. Perfect for rock gardens and alpine displays in UK gardens.

How to grow crocus sieberi

Plant 5cm deep in free-draining soil. Best in a raised bed, rock garden, or trough where drainage is perfect. Protect from excessive winter wet. The tri-coloured form 'Tricolor' is the most striking.
