Light requirements

Bright indirect

Best near a window with filtered light — avoid harsh direct rays.

How to care for watermelon peperomia

Bright indirect light shows off the markings. Water when the compost has mostly dried out — the thick leaves store moisture and the plant rots easily if overwatered. Good drainage is essential; add perlite to the compost. Feed monthly spring-summer with a diluted liquid feed. Minimum 12°C.

Watering

💧 Water sparingly

Let the compost dry out completely between waterings. Roughly every 2–4 weeks.

Propagation

  • Leaf cuttings — cut leaf in half and plant the cut edge in compost

Toxicity

This plant is not known to be toxic to cats or dogs.

Common problems

  • Drooping leaves from overwatering (the most common issue)
  • Fading markings in low light
  • Slow growth (this is normal)
