Why visit Cotehele?
Cotehele's garden is closely tied to the slopes and orchards above the River Tamar. East terraces carry mixed herbaceous borders and views towards Calstock, while the Upper Garden is organised around a lily pond. A tunnel leads into the steeper Valley Garden, with a medieval stewpond, dovecote and paths towards the quay. The estate also has 12 acres of orchards, including a Mother Orchard with more than 300 trees and 125 heritage apple varieties.
