A single early tulip producing rich purple goblet flowers from late March. One of the earliest large-flowered tulips. The flowers open wide in sunshine showing a paler interior. Sturdy short stems resist spring winds. Excellent for containers and formal spring bedding. Reliable in most UK gardens.

How to grow tulipa 'purple prince'

Plant 15-20cm deep in November. One of the earliest large-flowered tulips. Short sturdy stems make it wind-resistant. Good for containers and formal bedding. Opens wide in warm sunshine. Plant with late daffodils and muscari.
